EDUCATION
I study at IThub College in the "Product Manager" programme, currently in my fourth year.
This programme helps me look at IT more broadly than just development. In product work it is important to understand who a solution is built for, what problem it solves, how the user journey is structured and why one feature can matter more than another.
College gave me a foundation in project work, teamwork, databases and systems thinking. Some of that knowledge proved useful in real work — especially where you need not just to write code, but to understand the task and take the solution through to a result.
I gained most of my practical skills on my own. It is easier and more interesting for me to learn when the knowledge can be applied in a project straight away.
What I have learned in practice
For me, education is not only college but constant practice: learning a new tool, trying it in real work, making mistakes, fixing them, reading documentation and gradually levelling up.
